New Star Trek Series for 50th Anniversary!
What we all have been waiting for, a new Star Trek series to get our regular fix of the classic Sci-Fi we all grew up enjoying!
CBS and Alex Kurtzman is developing a brand new version the beloved sci-fi classic for TV. The new Star Trek has been picked up straight to series at CBS, with the premiere slated for the network in Jan 2017. Resulting episodes can air on its digital and VOD platform, CBS All Access.
The new Star Trek can introduce new characters seeking exciting new worlds and new civilizations, while also exploring some of the classic themes since its beginning in 1966. Star Trek, is going to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2016 & is one the most beloved Sci-Fi franchises of all time. The first Star Trek spawned a dozen feature films and 5 amazing TV series. Nearly five decades later, the Star Trek TV series area unit licensed on a spread of various platforms seen in about a hundred ninety countries, and generates approximately a billion social media impressions monthly.
Born from the mind of gene Roddenberry, the first Star Trek series debuted on Sept. 8, 1966 and ventilated for 3 seasons – a brief run that belied the influence it might have for generations. The series additionally made history in it’s storytelling and cultural mores, providing a progressive topics together with race relations, world politics and also the atmosphere of a bright sci-fi future.
